    Default Accounts Payable Aging Glitch

I have a client who is currently facing a very unusual problem. He paid a bill on 6/17/2008 but when he runs the A/P aging report, that same bill is being reported as 90 days overdue.

He told me that he moved QB file from different versions but he is currently working on QB 2008. He is doing BK for a non-profit.

Is this some kind of a glitch? Was this caused because of different versions? Is there a right way to fix it?

    Thanks in advance

Pull up the bill payment and make sure the bill is checked off.

Yes, it is checked off... No mistake has been made as far as recording the bill and paying it is concerned.

To fix, easiest way is to delete the bill. He picked up the expense when he wrote the check. Right now his expenses are overstated. Or find the check paying that bill. Change the expense account to Accounts Payable. Put the vendor's name in the name column. Pull up the Pay Bills screen and use this credit (from your changing the check) with the credit. Amount to "pay" is zero.

Deleting the bill and posting it again with the same date fixes the problem, of course. He initially posted it to Accounts Payable which translates into using Pay Bills screen to make the payments.
