    Default Looking for Accounting Software

    Hi

I am looking for accounting software that can perform the payroll and some other accounting task for me. I run a small business and find all these tasks are very tedious and time consuming for me as it is done manually and we always end up paying penalties.
I actually need some software that can perform all these tasks and could reduce my hassle. I came across one software called Intuit QuickBooks 2008 Enhanced Payroll http://www.checkoutsoftware.com/intu...-payroll_p4300 but have no idea if it will work out. I just noticed some SAGE payroll softwares. Can someone plz suggest which one to go for?

    Default LLC Member v Employee

Suggestion: Organize the business as an LLC, grant time limited LLC minority interests to employees (technically
referred to as exempt workers if they are part-owners), they [workers] will be classified as "owners", exempt from:

    Fed & CA Withholding
    FICA
    Workers Compensation
    Unemployment Insurance

LLC agreement clause allows a "shoot-out" (def: an LLC provision designed to
disassociate an LLC participant, commonly referred to as "Member"), similar to
    firing an employee.

"I DON'T WANT 5 'PARTNERS' ". Retain 51%+ voting interest and fire them like
    an employee.

See video section for: Employee v Partner video series.

"If it was that easy everybody would do it". 75% of companies are organized as LLCs today. I
guess it is that easy. What was your payroll question about?

The QuickBook Payroll version is very good especially if you use QuickBooks for bookkeeping. I use it for my clients in my new cpa firm.

Quickbooks will work...kinda. The thing is, there are tax updates every year, sometimes multiple times per year. Quickbooks will update, but you have to pay extra. Also, if you wanted to set up direct deposit for your employees, they charge for that too. You are also still at risk for paying penalties as well, since QB does not pay those taxes for you. In other words, you will still have to run reports and send in forms. The thing that I really don't like is if I have a question, they charge me a fee. I have used Sage software before as well (MAS90), but it is burdensome. Quickbooks is great for keeping books, I use it in our company for our clients. However, I do not use it for payroll. I have in the past, but there is too much room for error. I have found other methods that work better.

I would like to offer our services to you. We guarantee that you will never have a tax penalty again. If you do, we will pay the penalties. Also, we keep track of all tax updates, so this is something that you will not have to keep track of. And we have free customer support. If payroll is something that you would like to do at your location, we can make that happen for you. We offer free setup, employee training, and our prices are very competitive. Please let me know if we can be of assistance. Our phone number is 479-409-8284, or you can e-mail me at jappling@sequoiapayroll.com

I agree with the above posts, QuickBooks is the best software to choose. I teach my clients how to use a variety accounting software and have had better results with QuickBooks.
I'm an accountant based in Westport, Connecticut. Try Quickbooks, they are easy enough to use. Pastel also works well but it is more complicated.
