Default Can you upload info from Excel to QB Pro?

Is it possible to prepare an excel spreadsheet with bill payment information then upload that to QB Pro to print checks? I know you can export from QB to Excel, but I have never tried to import info.

Thanks!

I know you can import checks, and to have QuickBooks see them for printing just put "To Print" in the check number field. As for importing them as bill payments similar to what you would do through the accounts payable screens I don't think that you can. The matching of bills with their payments is done internally in QuickBooks and that match is an attribute that can't be imported.

You'll need a 3rd party application to do it. Check out www.q2q.us, www.bigredconsulting.com or Transactions Pro from BayState Consulting. Pricey but worth the money...

Export Excel in .csv (comma delimited) or space delineated.

Excel 2000; 2003

File > Save as > CSV (comma delimited)

Excel 2007:
Save as > other formats > select comma delineated in format drop down

Import via Import Data regimen. Outlook allows mapping fields (ex.: Customer name and information) with import function in .csv format.

Depending on what you want to import, you may need a custom program to do the importation for you. It's handy and can worth the money if you need to repeat the operation over time.

Hope it helps.
