    Default Duplicate Check Numbers

I'm getting the "duplicate check #" error when I print checks, and the reason is that the company's QB goes back over 10 years, and many years ago the company used the same sequence of checks.

Does anyone have a clever idea to work around this, other than turning off the reminder in Preferences?

I'd like to keep the warning, so that if the checks really are messed up, I get a message, if possible....

The only work-around I have thought of is to put an additional number or letter in front of the actual check number. This way it will still auto-advance, but won't give you a repeat check number message.
