Default Setting up bookkeeping business in QuickBooks

This may seem really obvious, but I thought that I'd ask anyway. When setting up my bookkeeping business in QB's, should I select the Accounting/CPA or the Consulting type of business? Is there a way to see what the COA would include for the different types of businesses prior to setting them up? All that QB's shows are sample companies for a service type and a product type.

When QuickBooks sets up a chart of accounts, they are trying to think of all the things that a company may someday need. I have found that most of the COA's are too cluttered. I suggest you start with a basic COA such as what we have in Module 3 in the "Setting up a New Business" section.

It is so easy to add accounts as you need them, I don't like to have a whole bunch of accounts I will never use.
