Default Oprah Stimulus News: KFC Free Chicken Coupon

Oprah Stimulus News: KFC Free Chicken Coupon

Print and enjoy. Hey, eat at Joe's free for 12 days = free printer cartridge? If Oprah's payen Girlfriends...
I suppose Pat will ask me if use of the coupon constitutes a distribution from income or capital from an LLC since the
use of the coupon is hinged upon acceptance of marketers terms relating to a licensed right to distribute additional
    advertisement material.

Serious Question, Zahid, how does a ledger accountant enter a coupon transaction?
    Promotion
    Discount (free = discount?)
    Gift (transferable or personal right)
Contract (failure for want of consideration?)
Negotiable Instrument Law (UCC) transferable right versus holder in due course per negotiation?

Trick Question(?) Ponder the topic at lunch on me, Helse.

    Looks tasty...

It will be treated as a discount, that's what we used to do back in the old days at a retail store..

    Agree with discount.

The restaurant detail P&L's I'm used to showed gross sales and cost of sales by product with the appropriate cogs % (so they can control food cost against budget/recipe cost) on page 1 then on page 2 it begins with total net sales followed by cogs, labor, controllables.............down to the net profit.

Depending on the promo, you will often see a 2 to 5% difference between the gross and net cogs %.
