Default State Pensions: $1.1 Trln. Debt

    Article Abstract

Nationwide, there is a $1 trillion shortfall in the public sector's retirement benefits, according
to the report that was released Thursday.

The cost of the trillion-dollar shortfall, which will be paid over the coming decades, is
about $8,800 for each American household. The study did not include many city, county
and municipal pension plans, which are thought to have similar underfunding.

In the present world the concept of "Welfare State" became much more popular than ever before. The above statement must be taken into consideration in this framework so that we would be able to understand the whole picture in one glance. It is tragic situation that some modern economist try to make state a just "silent spectator" which is not justifiable on any ground so we must be think about it on logical ground.
