Our organization is a fast-growing small company in the corporate training and HR marketplace. We develop and sell research and consulting to corporate training organizations on best practices in enterprise learning. We are a fun, fast-growing company which is very well known and respected in our marketplace. We are a small, well known in our field, company located throughout the US, with our CEO and principals in the SF Bay Area.
We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager with 5+ years of experience in the Accounting field. Position requires full preparation, analysis and reporting of financials, including: compiling and analyzing of financial information; preparing bank reconciliations and preparing financial statements. Ideal candidate will develop and implement policies and manage the day-to-day accounting functions. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and Administration. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Provides accurate, documented and reconciled month-end financial statements in the required format, reflective of the general ledger, and within the required time frames for management and our leadership board. 2. Perform monthly journal entries and review all journal entries and account analyses. 3. Ensures and reviews timely reconciliations of bank accounts. 4. Maintains adequate cash flow on a daily basis and informs Director of additional cash flow needs in a timely manner. 5. Ensures accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts to support monthly and annual financial statements. 6. Manages on line banking and credit card processes. 7. Prepares detailed budgets and forecasts, as requested. 8. Prepares monthly management reports and project reports as requested. 9. Participates in communicating and training in accounting procedures where required. 10. Participates in internal audit functions to ensure adequate internal controls are being followed and to ensure accuracy of financial statements. 11. Manages external financial statement audit process and prepares schedules as requested by independent auditors to ensure a timely and successful financial statement audit. 12. Ensures timely filing of all federal, state and local tax reports to all agencies. 13. Maintains insurance policies including renewals and claims processing. 14. Keeps Director informed regarding all finance department matters. 15. Other accounting, analysis and additional duties as assigned. 16. You must be extremely versatile with QuickBooks 2007 and its reporting functions. 17. You must be an expert with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel 18. Manage and Improve A/P and Vendor reporting process 19.Manage and Improve A/R and Collections process, including invoicing Skills Required: Successful candidates should have the following qualifications/requirements: • You should have a College degree B. B.A. or B.S. in Accounting • You should have at least 5-7 years experience in Accounting • Recent start-up experience would be an advantage. • You must demonstrate an ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize workload with high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision • You must have excellent customer communication skills, both on the phone and via email and writing • You must be highly organized and analytical thinker. •You should self-motivated, results-driven, takes pride & ownership in work • You must be a team player with demonstrated experience in working cross-functionally •You must have a good "customer service" attitude to business partners and clients alike • Strong knowledge of current accounting rules and regulations. • Strong analytical skills. • You must be very well organized, be able to operate independently (work from home for two days a week and three in a home-based office), and be very customer focused and service oriented Our Values: Our company has five basic operating principles.
