    Default Prevailing Wage Check Stubs

    Hello All .

Wondering if someone can help. The company I work for does not include the prevailing hourly rate on the check stub. It is very confusing to figure out wages. They show the regular rate and put the total hours in that row, which includes prevailing wage hours worked. The prevailing wage only shows the money amount with no rate or hours. They say they minus the prevailing wage employee deductions then add this to the regular rate and blah blah ... If you are confused, this is how I've been for the last 2 years. The last person that really questioned the whole process seemed to get about 4 hours over the next month( black balled ). Would anyone take a look at this, or suggest who I may go to and sort this mess out. My last check seemed about 400.00 less than I had figured it out to be...

    Thanks for the help

You could file a wage claim, the arbitration process is informal. Your post indicates you
anticipate the employer's reciprocation via reduced hours.

    CA DLSE wage claim adjudication:
"DLSE adjudicates wage claims on the behalf of workers who file claims for nonpayment
of wages, overtime, or vacation pay pursuant to California Labor Code Sections 96 and
    98. DLSE deputies hold informal conferences between employers and employees to
resolve wage disputes. If a matter cannot be resolved at the informal conference, an
administrative hearing is held to make a final determination on the matter."

    Alternative:
Create an excel spreadsheet and cautiously petition, informally, for a 5 minute meeting with
the payroll department. Post an image of the excel worksheet to AccountingBlock for our terroristic analysis.
