Does GAAP allow you to capitalize and amortize costs incurred for paying professionals to development/design a company's website? If so, what would be the years for amortization?

This is the kind of question I like... I buy and sell websites all the time and manage quite a few besides AccountingBLOCK.com
![]() The cost incurred for constructing a website shall be capitalized. You may refer to IAS38-"Intangible assets including R&D and software". However, the useful life is based on future economic life. I will look more in to this in coming weeks and report back to you... |
